Notes

Ransford Comstock

Loomis book of 1908 has Nancy's father as Ransford Comstock.  However, the Comstock books (by Cyrus B. Comstock and John Adams Comstock) have Ransford's daughter Nancy married to David H. Gardner.  Nancy's birthdate is the same as the Loomis book, but her death date is listed as 26 April 1866 instead of 13 Sept 1870/72.

Ransford's will mentions a daughter, Nancy Loomis and no daughter named Nancy Gardner.  From this information it appears that the Loomis book is correct and the Comstock Book is incorrect.

Ransford Comstock was an Ensign in the Revolutionary War, serving with the 7th Co., 3rd Reg. of the Connecticut Militia, 1779-81, and was also in the French and Indian War, 1758, in Conn.  When an old man, in the last quarter of the century, he moved to Exeter, Otsego Co., NY.  Children born in New London and Stonington, Conn.
