Letter from Helene v. Haeseler (older sister of Adelaide) to nephew, Paul v. Haeseler:
"6. Adelaide, called Ady who was married to an Ober inspector of forests, Georg v. Wangelin.  She died after giving birth to a little girl Erica.  I nursed my sister Ady until she died and then became housekeeper at (the) von Wangelin's home.  I brought up Erica as my own child.  She became a remarkably handsome young woman and married a minister of State von Brandenstein.  To my greatest despair and that of the whole family both are of pronounced communistic tendencies.  Georg v. Wangelin had by his first wife 4 sons, who I have all brought up.  The oldest son Richard fell in the war killed in one of the first battles.  He was a Major and another died through sickness contracted during the war."

Gottlieb Friedrich Wilhelm von Haeseler

In a letter from Gottlieb's older sister, Helene v. Haeseler, to Paul v. Haeseler:
